Following recent departures, Phil Spencer has been made head of the Xbox brand.
“This past year has been a growth experience both for me and for the entire Xbox team. We’ve taken feedback, made our products better and renewed our focus on what is most important, our customer.
“Our mission is to build a world-class team, work hard to meet the high expectations of a passionate fan base, create the best games and entertainment and drive technical innovation. As we continue forward, this renewed focus and mission will be a foundational part of how I lead the Xbox program.
“You will hear much more as we head into E3, but we are at the beginning of an incredible new chapter for Xbox and I can’t wait for the days and years ahead. This is going to be fun.”
Out of all the Xbox “frontmen” (i.e. those numpties in suits who spoke bullshit most of last year), I have to say I actually quite like Mr Spencer. He has a strong background of actual gaming and has the potential to turn the companies’ poor image around.

Thia came from the offical site at A4, “Metro Redux. You may have heard of it… even though you probably shouldn’t have!
“We could issue a ‘We do not comment on rumour and speculation’ statement and pretend this never happened. They’re pretty boring to read. They’re also pretty boring to write. So we’re going to comment on rumour and speculation instead.
“Is Metro Redux real? Yes. We never made any secret of 4A’s desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware. But what you saw leaked was taken from an old, internal planning presentation, containing some nuggets of truth but a lot of hypothetical ideas and place holder material.”
More to come at E3 in June.
Deep Silver could be bringing the Metro series to next-gen consoles.
A leaked image on an itallian website (which has since been pulled) shows Metro Last Light and a re-done version of its prequwl Metro 2033 to be released on next-gen and PC.
Metro Redux will come in limited edition packaging with the games’ soundtrack and some art cards, with a ‘day one DLC token’ for Last Light’s add-on content.
I never played Last Light due to it being too close to release of my X1. Metro 2033 on the other hand I played and enoyed. So to see a re-done version would be nice. If this is legit then I will most definelty be looking into it. Then again this is another game that is being re-released. I do hope E3 this year is not just the old games on the new hardware 😦
Respawn has let the community know details about an upcoming series of changes to Titanfall’s matchmaking system in a effort to address a “lack of variety” in matches. The studio intends to reinforce Titanfall’s “behind-the-scenes matchmaking algorithms” with these changes, the hope that it will result is teams based on skill levels rather than a quick and dirty composition.
Taken from Respawn forums
Searching for teammates and opponents will now sometimes take more time to look for players that are a good skill level match rather than purely prioritizing speed over quality. This will give us more time to build better teams and create closer games that are worth staying in for a longer period of time.
Rather than playing against the same opponents over and over, the game will periodically split the teams apart and search for new opponents for each team. This means if one team is dominating, we will update the skill for all of the players and then find each team a better suited match for the next round.
Did you lose to a really great team? We’ll make them disappear and replace them with a new opposing team – and they will have no idea that you just got your butts kicked. This should end some of the frustration with playing for extended periods when you’re having an off night. – Respawn
If you play matchmaking now there is a beta lobby for this dedicated to Attrition. But i did notice this happen to me on Pilot Hunter last night when I was the one who was dominating 🙂
