Metro Series Coming To Next-Gen

Thia came from the offical site at A4, “Metro Redux. You may have heard of it… even though you probably shouldn’t have!

“We could issue a ‘We do not comment on rumour and speculation’ statement and pretend this never happened. They’re pretty boring to read. They’re also pretty boring to write. So we’re going to comment on rumour and speculation instead.

“Is Metro Redux real? Yes. We never made any secret of 4A’s desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware. But what you saw leaked was taken from an old, internal planning presentation, containing some nuggets of truth but a lot of hypothetical ideas and place holder material.”

More to come at E3 in June.

Deep Silver could be bringing the Metro series to next-gen consoles.

A leaked image on an itallian website (which has since been pulled) shows Metro Last Light and a re-done version of its prequwl Metro 2033 to be released on next-gen and PC.

Metro Redux will come in limited edition packaging with the games’ soundtrack and some art cards, with a ‘day one DLC token’ for Last Light’s add-on content.

I never played Last Light due to it being too close to release of my X1. Metro 2033 on the other hand I played and enoyed. So to see a re-done version would be nice. If this is legit then I will most definelty be looking into it. Then again this is another game that is being re-released. I do hope E3 this year is not just the old games on the new hardware 😦

  1. “I do hope E3 this year is not just the old games on the new hardware”
It’ll be fine. Owners of these new consoles want games to play and re-makes are an easy way to meet short-term demand.
I don’t doubt for one minute we are going to see some interesting stuff at E3 this year – at least, I hope so, as I cannot think of a single X1 exclusive I’m excited about right now (apart from Quantum Break, which may or may not be good, depending on if they ever show us some proper footage).

    • It will be a little dissapointing with us waitng for new releases and all we get is mostly remakes. Microsoft has already stated in an interview that this years E3 is all about games. Hopefully like last year and not the year before that.

      • I don’t doubt they will be focusing on games this E3 – with Sony outselling Microsoft comfortably right now, this will be a hugely important E3 for them – the question is /what/ games will they be focusing on?
I can’t say I care about Halo 2 HD or a new Call of Duty (I only have a passing interest in Quantum Break too). Ideally I would love to see some X1 exclusives which solidify my console purchase. There hasn’t really been anything that has done that yet aside from perhaps Titanfall so I’m really hoping Microsoft come to E3 with some good things this year.

  2. You never know. Rare could announce a Perfect Dark or Bajo Kazooie game, maybe a new Viva Pinata, Forza Horizon 2, What fighters will be in Killer Instinct season 2, Rainbow 6 Patriots, Beyond Good & Evil 2, Far Cry 4, Lots more on Quantium Break, Ryse 2, Crackdown 3, more on Star Wars Battlefront and Mass Effect 4, and at least 3 new IPs. Some of them are things i will hope and others are more than certain.

    • Here’s hoping! =) Thoroughly enjoyed my time with Ryse (sequel would need more variety however), would love a Crackdown sequel and a new Viva Pinata.
Don’t get my hopes up on Rainbow Six however. It’s miles away from launch and cruel to make me think otherwise!
