Forza Horizon 2 Has No Microtransactions

Playground games has confirmed that Forza Horizon 2 will have no micro transactions at launch.

Creative Director Ralph Fulton said, “The approach we’ve taken is that we’ve designed our game at Playground Games from the ground up to be fair, to be fun, to be rewarding. That’s incredibly important to us. For that reason, we will launch in September without tokens. We’ve got an amazing list of 200 plus cars, and we want you to explore it. We want to enable you, at very regular intervals, to be able to change your car, pick a new one from the list. If that doesn’t work out, you’re able to buy a new one really quickly.”

This is great news. Forza 5 was released with plenty of micro transactions which spurred outrage from fans. Nice to know that they listened. Horizon 2 is due for release at the end of September.

  1. After the backlash they received with Forza 5 I’m not surprised. Seriously, f**k that game, lol

    • This one will be much better

      • Yes, with half the frame rate I can see it being a much better product… 😉

      • It will still be good. There will be a demo so you can see for yourself before release. The previous one was only 30 frames and you wanted that one 😛

      • The problem back then was I didn’t have a TV where you could tell the difference between 30 and 60fps. Now I have a nice tele, there is a huge difference and 30fps games just don’t feel right. For an adventure game like The Witcher or Uncharted, I can deal with a solid 30 frame rate (though MGS Ground Zeroes showed that 60fps is still much better), but driving and FPS need to be 60fps these days and its crazy it still isn’t the standard.
