Starting Feb 3rd, players will be able to jump into an open beta test for Battlefield Hardline. Looks great and I’m really looking forward to giving it a try.
A new trailer has also been released, which shows a nice mix of the game’s multiplayer and single player. Normally I wouldn’t go near a BF campaign with a 10ft bargepole, but with Visceral in charge this time around, I must admit I’m suitably intrigued.
Hopefully EA and crew can prove that this is a completely new BF experience and not just an overpriced BF4 expansion pack.
Following the pattern set by pretty much every other game these days, Resident Evil Revelations 2 will feature a micro transaction system.
This will be limited to the game’s RAID mode and allows players to purchase life crystals, essentially allowing them to continue a mission if they die. Capcom went on to say that players will also be able to unlock these crystals by completing daily challenges.
Personally I’m not a fan of this approach as it removes all challenge from the game. Yes they are optional but what’s the point of slogging through a difficult mission to gain an upgrade if someone with an infinite wallet can just buy their way to the same result?
Some more footage of FF Type-0 HD has been released and I’m still in two minds about this game.
Despite the slightly bland visuals (it was originally a PSP game after all) and the insanely zoomed in camera, its a Final Fantasy game so I sort of feel obligated to at least try it, plus the story is supposed to be great – lets not forget that FF15 demo code either!
Type-0 HD launches in a couple of months on X1 and PS4. Hopefully I can make my mind up between now and then! 😉

Free to play PC game APB will be coming to Xbox One later this year (“late Q2” apparently).
The game is your standard Cops vs Criminals affair but supports lobbies of up to 100 players and features sizable open areas.
From what I played of it on PC, its not the best game in the world, but it’s nice to see F2P games like this and Warframe on Microsoft’s console.
