The Division Looks Unlikely For 2015
It looks like we will be unable to play Ubisoft’s The Division next year. 😦
An insider told Gamereactor “We’ve been given increased resources, we’re hiring lots at the moment and are given a lot of help from other Ubisoft teams which is going to be needed if we are to deliver a finished game by next fall. Sadly I still think that the date is a tad bit optimistic as we still don’t have a functioning game and still have massive problems making our multiplayer component work at the concept stage. At the same time both we and our publisher are incredibly happy with our game engine and Ubisoft will naturally make use of it in lots of upcoming titles.”
A bit of a blow to the team at Massive. The problem is that this is not just a couple of months, this is a full year away. Why was it announced back at E3 2013?! I do hate it when a game is announced way before a concrete release date is given. A game should be announced and released a few months after that. It keeps the hype for the game going.
The insider went on to say. “At the end of the day we don’t want to do a Battlefield 4 and release an unfinished game. There’s too much potential in the concept that is The Division at the moment, that we’ve asked for more time and resources in order to fully realise this fantastic vision.”
The Division’s Engine Looks Pretty
Ubisoft unvailed a new vid at VGX that showcases the new Snowdrop engine developed for Tom Clancys:Â The Division.
I liked the look of The Division which was shown at E3 this year. I am a sucker for detail and this engine shows lots of it 🙂
Check it out below.
On an unrelated note… This is my 100th post 🙂
The Division Tablet Gameplay
Ubisoft have unveiled a new trailer for their new squad based co-op game The Division.
This trailer showcases what the tablet user will be able to accomplish by looking down on your friends and supply support. The tablet user will be able to heal the team on the ground, spot hard to see targets and give them intell on new missions and set up objective markers.
All this can be done from the table anywhere in the world and at any time with quick drop in and out. No release date yet but I will assume this will be release late holiday in 2014.
