BF Hardline Beta Dated. New Trailer

Starting Feb 3rd, players will be able to jump into an open beta test for Battlefield Hardline. Looks great and I’m really looking forward to giving it a try.

A new trailer has also been released, which shows a nice mix of the game’s multiplayer and single player. Normally I wouldn’t go near a BF campaign with a 10ft bargepole, but with Visceral in charge this time around, I must admit I’m suitably intrigued.

Hopefully EA and crew can prove that this is a completely new BF experience and not just an overpriced BF4 expansion pack.

Revelations 2 To Feature Micro Transactions

Following the pattern set by pretty much every other game these days, Resident Evil Revelations 2 will feature a micro transaction system.

RE

This will be limited to the game’s RAID mode and allows players to purchase life crystals, essentially allowing them to continue a mission if they die. Capcom went on to say that players will also be able to unlock these crystals by completing daily challenges.

Personally I’m not a fan of this approach as it removes all challenge from the game. Yes they are optional but what’s the point of slogging through a difficult mission to gain an upgrade if someone with an infinite wallet can just buy their way to the same result?

RE Revelations 2 RAID Video

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is almost here and so too is the series’ popular RAID mode.

Capcom has released a sizable 20 minute video showing off the mode in action and its looking pretty great to me. The introduction of different elements (Ice, Fire) is certainly a nice touch 🙂

Revelations 2 launches its first chapter next month, while the complete package will release on disk in March.

New EU Dying Light Release Date

Following the recent announcement that the physical version of Dying Light would be delayed, we now have a new release date.

DyingLight

From 27th Feb you will be able to pick up a physical copy of the game, a one month delay over the digital and US versions.

On the bright side, it has been announced that the “Be a Zombie” mode, will be freely available for everyone. Previously this was a pre-order bonus, so not a bad gesture.

Depending on the reviews, I might have to grab a copy as I do love my zombie games.
